App won't open or crashes

Make sure you're on the latest version of StreamLab and a supported iOS version (iOS 17.0 or later). Fully close the App and relaunch it, then restart your device if the issue continues. If it persists, email us with your device model and iOS version.

Camera preview is black

A practice run needs camera access to show your preview. Open Settings > StreamLab on your device and enable Camera. You can also use the Gear Check button on the Studio screen to confirm camera and microphone access before you go live.

How do I start a practice run?

From the Studio tab, pick one of the four overlays (Minimal, Arcade, Broadcast, or Studio) and tap Go Live. On the Run Setup screen you can set a title and choose an accent color, then tap Start Run to begin with a live preview, simulated chat, reactions, and viewer count.

Is the chat and audience real?

No — and that's the point. StreamLab is a practice tool. Chat messages are randomly generated from preset templates (a few appear from fictional characters with avatars), and viewer counts are simulated numbers that rise and fall like a real crowd. No real people are watching or typing, so you can rehearse with zero pressure.

What are Missions?

The Missions tab holds goals to work toward. Some are milestones (stream 5 minutes, reach 40 viewers), and some are Challenger missions where you try to beat a character's record in a single run. Completing a mission awards bonus XP. Track your progress bars in the Missions tab.

How do XP, level, and score work?

Every run earns a score based on minutes streamed, peak viewers, chat messages, and reactions. Your score becomes XP, and XP raises your creator level. Tap the level pill in the top-right of any tab to see the full breakdown. Reaching new levels unlocks overlay accent colors.

How do I unlock accent colors?

Overlay accent colors unlock as you reach new creator levels. In Run Setup, locked accents show the level they require. Keep completing runs and missions to level up and unlock more — there is nothing to buy.

Where can I see my past runs?

Open the Logbook tab. It shows your total runs, stream time, best score, and peak viewers, plus a list of each past run with its duration, viewers, messages, reactions, and score. Everything is stored locally on your device.

Profile photo won't save

Setting a profile photo needs Photo Library access. Check Settings > StreamLab on your device. Then tap the camera icon on your avatar in the Creator tab to pick a photo. Photos are stored locally and stay across app restarts.
